Aliens Make First Contact After Learning the McRib Is Back

Humanity has spent decades wondering what might finally bring an advanced extraterrestrial civilization to Earth.

Scientists suggested radio signals. Governments prepared for unexplained objects entering controlled airspace. Religious scholars debated the implications of intelligent life beyond Earth. Countless movies imagined aliens arriving in search of resources, territory, knowledge, or the complete extermination of the human race.

As it turns out, they wanted a McRib.

First contact with extraterrestrial life reportedly occurred Tuesday morning when an enormous unidentified spacecraft appeared over the continental United States and transmitted a message that was simultaneously detected by military installations, commercial satellites, amateur radio operators, and several confused truck drivers.

The message contained only four words.

“McRib available. We come.”

Within hours, government officials confirmed that the object was not believed to have originated from any known nation on Earth.

That assessment became significantly easier when three smaller craft separated from the main vessel and landed outside a McDonald’s restaurant.

Witnesses said several humanoid beings exited the ships shortly afterward.

The visitors were described as approximately seven feet tall, thin, gray in color, and possessing unusually large black eyes. Despite their appearance, witnesses said the beings displayed no aggression and largely ignored the hundreds of people gathering around the restaurant.

Instead, they walked directly inside.

“They just went straight to the counter,” said one witness. “Everybody was screaming and filming them, and they didn’t even care. One of them pointed at the menu and said something that sounded like ‘rib.’”

The restaurant temporarily closed while federal authorities attempted to secure the area, although officials reportedly permitted the extraterrestrial visitors to remain inside after determining that their primary objective appeared to be purchasing sandwiches.

Initial communication proved difficult.

The aliens apparently possessed technology capable of translating human languages but had not fully accounted for regional accents, drive-through terminology, or the concept of ordering a meal as a combo.

According to people familiar with the encounter, one alien repeatedly requested “the rib object” before being informed that the McRib was available as a sandwich.

The visitors ultimately ordered 43 McRibs.

They declined fries.

The aliens’ interest in the sandwich immediately raised questions about how a species from another star system could possibly know about a limited-time McDonald’s menu item.

Scientists may now have an answer.

During preliminary discussions with representatives from several world governments, the visitors reportedly explained that their civilization has been monitoring Earth’s radio and television broadcasts for decades.

While most human transmissions were considered unremarkable, McDonald’s advertising eventually attracted their attention.

The McRib became particularly fascinating.

According to a preliminary translation of the extraterrestrial delegation’s statements, their scientists were initially confused by the product’s repeated disappearance and reappearance from restaurant menus.

They believed the McRib might have some form of ceremonial significance.

“We observed the meat rectangle vanish,” one translated statement reportedly read. “Then the meat rectangle returned. Humans celebrated. Then meat rectangle vanished again. This continued for many cycles.”

The aliens began monitoring McDonald’s advertising specifically to determine when the sandwich would return.

Their civilization eventually constructed an automated alert system.

That system activated last week.

The result was humanity’s first confirmed encounter with intelligent extraterrestrial life.

Scientists have described the development as both historic and somewhat humiliating.

“We’ve transmitted mathematical sequences into space,” one researcher involved in the initial contact effort said. “We’ve sent information about human culture, biology, music, and our location in the galaxy. Apparently what actually worked was a commercial featuring barbecue sauce.”

Government officials initially attempted to move the meeting to a secure military facility.

The visitors refused.

They instead requested additional McRibs.

Negotiations were eventually relocated to a nearby conference center after officials agreed to provide several insulated containers filled with the sandwiches.

Diplomatic discussions are reportedly progressing well.

The extraterrestrial delegation has shown little interest in Earth’s military capabilities, natural resources, or political borders. They have also dismissed questions about advanced propulsion systems, faster-than-light travel, and the possibility of sharing technology with humanity.

Their primary questions have focused on McDonald’s.

Among the topics reportedly discussed were the exact composition of McRib sauce, why the sandwich is shaped like it contains bones despite being boneless, and why McDonald’s repeatedly removes a product that customers clearly continue to purchase.

Human representatives were unable to provide a satisfactory answer to the final question.

The aliens also requested information regarding the Shamrock Shake.

That request has reportedly been forwarded to the appropriate authorities.

McDonald’s has not announced whether it plans to capitalize on humanity’s first official contact with extraterrestrial life, although several restaurants near the landing site have reportedly sold out of McRibs.

Lines formed throughout the afternoon as visitors arrived hoping to see the alien spacecraft or purchase the sandwich that apparently succeeded where decades of scientific research had failed.

Some customers expressed frustration.

“I drove forty minutes because I heard aliens were here,” one man said. “Then I figured I’d get a McRib while I was at it. They’re sold out because the aliens bought all of them. This is bullshit.”

The arrival has also caused intense debate online.

Some users believe the extraterrestrials’ explanation is genuine. Others have suggested the McRib story may be a cover for a reconnaissance mission ahead of an invasion.

A smaller but rapidly growing group insists the aliens themselves are part of a McDonald’s marketing campaign.

Officials have rejected that theory.

“The United States government is confident that McDonald’s does not currently possess interstellar spacecraft,” a spokesperson said.

The statement did little to reduce speculation.

For now, the visitors appear likely to remain on Earth for several days while formal diplomatic relations are established.

Their intentions beyond that remain unclear.

One translated conversation suggested that the delegation may purchase several thousand frozen McRibs before returning to their home world.

Officials have cautioned that such an agreement could create logistical problems if the aliens expect a permanent supply.

There is also concern about what could happen when the McRib eventually disappears from menus again.

Representatives have reportedly begun explaining the concept of a “limited-time offer” to the visitors.

The aliens did not respond positively.

One member of the delegation reportedly stared at the translator for nearly thirty seconds before asking a single question.

“Why?”

Humanity has not yet produced an answer.
